In this blog, we will look at the 6 types of security guards needed for event management.

1. General security guard

This type of security guard is seen at most events and only requires general training. They are deployed to simply look out for any irregularities and may also perhaps help with some basic customer service duties, e.g. giving directions, lost property, missing persons, etc. The number required depends on the scale of the event and how many attendees there are.

2. Bodyguards

For events involving VIPs, more personalised protection is needed in case of any ad hoc targeted attack on the individual(s). This type of guard is professionally trained with expert observation skills and likely firearms or at least martial art trained.

3. Gatekeepers

Another type of security guard very commonly seen at events is a gatekeeper. 5. Mobile patrols
